CIIP Discussion Board Unreliable Source Of Public Information

Changing the recordIT HAS NOW EMERGED that the Canvey Island Independent Party’s discussion board permits its users to edit their previous posts – and does not provide a system timestamp indicating when those last alterations were made. As a consequence, none of the CIIP’s Board Posts can be considered as reliable or ‘On The Record.’

Earlier today I posted, in this Blog’s STOP PRESS column, reports of how a reply to Bill Sharp’s comments had suddenly changed - from the original version I had seen - when I checked the hyperlink I had posted. Then, later this afternoon, after Bill had replied to the user’s post – it changed again.

As a result, this Blog will no longer be providing links to the ‘discussions’ presented on the CIIP’s Board. Nor will it be monitoring any of its content.

The Board’s address will not be removed from this previous post; but, any readers following that link should treat what they find there with suspicion.

Neither WordPress nor BlogSpot sites permit contributors to alter what they have posted. Alterations can only be performed by an authorised moderator whose job is to ensure that any comments made are on topic; do not contain offensive remarks; and do not libel others. Moreover, the comments themselves then indicate they have been moderated – and when.

[18:38 - As I am writing this, I am just being told that part of Bill Sharp’s reply has just been deleted – and there is no statement of moderation].

Those residents wishing to ask questions of the local political parties are advised to use the MMM site (where Colin is taking a very liberal attitude to what would generally be considered ‘Off Topic’).
